The Housing Authority City of Yuma, HACY, is an independent, public, non-profit housing agency that offered a variety of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs including the Housing Choice Voucher Program, Rental Assistance Demonstration, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing, Family Self-Sufficiency Program, amongst others. HACY has a blended component unit relationship with the Arizona Housing Development Corporation (AHDC), which serves as a non-profit 501(c) 3.
AHDC offers a variety of services including the national award wining youth program, the SHINE Program. SHINE offers a leadership program for high school students accredited by Arizona Western College. SHINE Mentor Program students earn an AWC Occupational Certificate in Organizational Leadership within two years by the time they graduate high school. The program is available to all Yuma County high school students free of cost.
