About Us

Jacobson Realty and Development of Yuma, Arizona was founded by Don and Larry Jacobson in 1971. Originally formed as a real estate sales and land development company, it has evolved into a company of several entities. Jacobson Realty and Development soon began building homes, and in January of 1977, the name of the company was changed to Jacobson Companies, Inc., to reflect the many additional activities that the company became involved in.

In 1979, Jacobson Companies, Inc. expanded with the formation of Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., to serve the commercial construction market in Yuma. Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., was incorporated in Arizona in March of 1979. Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc. and Jacobson Companies, Inc. offers over 40 years of experience in design, development, and construction management.

For optimum quality and cost control, we perform our own utility work, along with rough and finished carpentry. In addition, we purchase many of our materials from Southwest Lumber – a subsidiary of Jacobson Companies, Inc. We have extensive design build experience with utility infrastructures because of our partnership with Jacobson Engineering, another company within the Jacobson Company family.

Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc. holds both General Commercial Construction B-01 and General Engineering Type A licenses. We have remodeled schools, built municipal buildings, commercial properties, schools, banks, churches, malls, parks. We also have significant experience in design and construction of underground utilities including water, sewer, storm drains, electrical, and other service utilities. Some of these services include new subdivisions, commercial properties, schools, new water transmission mains, fire lines, new sewer collection mains, and storm drain systems.

Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc. has completed projects throughout Arizona. Our trained professional team brings to the project a knowledge of drawings and specifications, cost estimating and bidding, construction contracts, surety bonding, project management and administration, cost management and above all — safety.
