About Us

Armed Women of America, Yuma was formed in March 2013 as The Well Armed Women Shooting Chapters, and later TWAW Shooting Chapters, org. It is the first chapter formed in the state of Arizona. The majority of our members are first time and novice shooters; however, we encourage shooters of all levels to join us. Experienced NRA Certified Instructors and Range Safety Officers are volunteer coaches who lead this chapter with the goal of educating, equipping, empowering and encouraging women when it comes to their own self-care.

Armed Women of America exists to enable women to be their own self-protectors, creating freedom, peace of mind and confidence in themselves. AWA is a national non-profit organization with chapters across the country where women gather regularly to learn and grow in their abilities to handle firearms safely, responsibly, and competently.

Community involvement is very important to our members and we participate in monthly community fundraising and volunteer events. Additionally we support the three local domestic violence prevention and survivor support agencies in our community.

Our meetings and shoots are scheduled on different dates on Monday nights during the summer at our indoor range, and on Saturday mornings during the winter at our outdoor range. Our programs focus on firearms safety, holsters, self defense, personal protection, gun cleaning, range etiquette, hunting laws, use of lethal force laws, archery, and rifles and shotguns.

Schedule: Summer Months - Monday Nights at Spragues (dates vary)
Winter Months - Saturday (dates vary) (Adair Range)
Times: Summer 5:30 pm / Winter 9:00 am
